New portrait!

I just finished this double portrait of a friend (Caro Levitt,fellow illustrator as well, and very talented!) and her friend. The casualty wanted us to be all bearing the same name: Carolina! So, here it is: a double portrait of two Caro's by another Caro...

Little gift

This new portrait I have finished today is a little gift and tribute for my dear friend Eva. T
This is just a little way to thank her for being such an amazing friend, and to always nurture my soul and help me being a better person.

Commission for a drawing

This is my now second commission, this time for a simple line drawing of a mermaid. Here are the two versions I've made for Anthony Nguyen, a really nice guy from USA, who's himself an artist (makeup artist). He wanted his mermaid image based on an antique necklace of his owning, and with the face of one of my older illustrations (sitting princess).

Pen, ink, color & tipography

Here I'm posting two more illus, the second with tipography and the first one with a simple color scheme.
I'ts like I imagine a possible commission, the legend is just to justify the addition of the tipography.

 

Now.. Pen, Ink and brush...

So I'm trying to do different kinds of illustrations.. I'm trying on a more fluid style, based on impulsive lineflow, made with digital pen, ink and brush... here, the first example of it.

Continuing with the coloring part..-

I colored a drawing which I like because, there are three girls on it, not just one, in a sort of weird composition, so different from my usual illustrations.

But when I started to put in colors, I just couldn't decide which of two versions is the best.

Finally, I've decided for the version with less colors.

Coloring lineart (scraps)

I'm trying to achieve different coloring "schemes" than the usual.. so here the scrap drawing I once did.. maybe I will color it totally different as well, just to see the result..

This is the first illu of two characters I've recently made, so I'm pretty happy with the outcome!

First commission of a portrait!

So.. The commissioner did not like the first version of the portrait.. I liked it, only I saw it was a little stiff, but the second version turned out to be much better.. at least it's very similar to the real girl.. so, here it is..

New portrait!

I just finished this new illustration yesterday, a portrait of my friend Nati... so I'm sketching more portraits of my friends, they all want one now!

New inspiration!

In these last weeks I really felt inspired, so I was drawing a lot, and I'm beginning with the coloring part!

Period of new experiments

I know it's been a really long time since I don't post anything, but it's not because I haven't done anything. It's just I'm tying out different styles and compositions and I'm not sure enough wether to post them or not, there are just tries...
I'm getting in touch with very different influences of new illustrators I'm getting to know through MySpace... all that stimulates my imagination and maybe in a while I will get my inspiration to get some wings...
So let's see... :), here a little scrap doodle for an example illustration for our class, probably it will be colored with the tablet.

..more ink and color!

Definitely this technique is something I like! :) So, here another doodle.. black and white and with some flat colors. Colors done with Pantone markers retouched a little with Photoshop CS.

More pen and ink...

This weekend, at the EAH, Enrique Alcatena a really outstanding comic artist from my country, came to talk to the students... It was really amazing to hear the words from somebody so experienced in this area, he's a real master of his technique... one of the greatest argentinian comic illustrators of the last decades.. So, I'm honored to say I saw him, heard his words, and then even came to exchange some words with him! yeah... it was so cool!!!

And the day before I had the idea to make a flyer inspired in that visit to my school, and, well here it is... I think I begin to love ink... ;) and of course... Alcatena's work!!!

Ink and brush

I started to attend an illustration class in the EAH (Escuela Argentina de Historieta)... our teacher encouraged us to use different tools for drawing... first of all we had to try using ink and brush... so today I did a few attempts with this technique, I found it really interesting. In fact, I remember having used ink in school and when I studied at Fine Arts... but I didn't remember it was such fun using this medium...

An Angel came to Babylon!

At last, I came to finish this illu of an angel in a garden... the lineart was finished very quickly, but it took longer with the coloring, because we were on holiday, I was sick, etc, etc, hehheh ;) But finally, here it is.. this Angel of babylon!!! Enjoy!!!

Lazy days!

Hello everybody! here I am again, after a week at the ocean, I had really lazy, lazy days with my family... and before I left, I made the lineart for a new illustration (traditional), but I'm not sure which will be the coloured outcome of it... so maybe I will be lazy a few weeks more, while I'm travelling again (this time to the mountains, to visit my mom), and finish it at my return... Hope you like it anyway... and I would be glad if somebody could give me some feedback about possible coloring.. Until my return!!!

Finished illu..with the tablet!

Ok, here is the finished illustration I have made with the tablet! It was a nice experience, it was made all with it, and I really have to say, it's not that bad at all, although I still stick to my beloved markers, and the next one I will make it with them..;) But, after that, my intention is to draw some different things with the tablet, like a painting, simple illustrations as for children's books, etc.. just to see how many different choices I have with it, and trying different techniques as well: watercolor, oil ,acrylic, etc... Ok, until then!!!Wait for the news!!

I'm back!

Hi everyone! Yes! It's been a really long time since I made my last entrance to my blog... but there are very important reasons for that :)

I finally had my beautiful daughter on 20th. November! She's fine and an angel! Her name is Sofia, we are so proud... And two weeks after her birth she was in NICU for 5 days because of a general infection caused by a virus, thanks god it wasn't a serious thing. But lo and behold, this last months were full of surprises and complicated situations, which didn't leave me much time to focus on art or illustration.


Now, A month and 10 days have passed, and slowly things are getting on track again.


I purchased my new Wacom tablet last Friday, and at any free moment I can find with my three angels, I try to sit down and understand it better...here an unfinished try to draw something with it, and I promise, when i finish it I will post it!So to anyone who visits my blog, i beg for a little bit of patience, because new material is soon coming!!!
