More lines for the schoolbook
These are a few lines for the inside of the schoolbook. I had to make some changes in some of them, and the world, well, they told me I have to do it all over again, they did not like the "arrangement" of the continents, that said, they wanted a traditional view of the world (with Northamerica and Europe included).. I was so happy to do something different from usual!
I think I will add some changes to the illu of the museum, maybe bolden up the outher line and adding some textures, because I feel it is a bit "empty".

Finished the schoolbook cover
I'm happy, because I finally met ends with the composition, or better, with the details of some of the characters of this cover. After some samples, it seems to be the definitive one. The background's white 'cause the publishing house has designed a background for it. (Blue and orange on the bottom).

Changing our minds...
Finally, we decided to change the illustration meant to be the gift for little Carla, because we thought that although beautiful, the image of the girl playing the violin was a bit sad.And as we want to give her hope we chose and old illu of mine for this purpose. (Sunflowers)
I changed and improved some minor details (fixed her wings, etc) and added a "frame", together with the tipography legend..

Little gift
This illustration begun as a project of personal promotional series. But, although I will continue with the series, this very first one is a gift dedicated to a little girl who is fighting bravely against cancer, her name is Carla. I pray to God that he will save her, because she's an example of bravery and strenght for us all.

Commissioned illustration
This is another commissioned illustration I have made for the Jaquish Dukelow Memorial Cancer Research guild.
They used the image for their logo.
The drawing is depicting a little girl that passed after a long battle against brain cancer, and a woman who lost her battle against breats cancer.
I first doubted to post details about this, but then I did, because all this really touched me deeply.
I'm happy and honored to have added my tiny grain of sand for this.

Commission for a drawing
This is my now second commission, this time for a simple line drawing of a mermaid. Here are the two versions I've made for Anthony Nguyen, a really nice guy from USA, who's himself an artist (makeup artist). He wanted his mermaid image based on an antique necklace of his owning, and with the face of one of my older illustrations (sitting princess).

Continuing with the coloring part..-
I colored a drawing which I like because, there are three girls on it, not just one, in a sort of weird composition, so different from my usual illustrations.

Period of new experiments
I know it's been a really long time since I don't post anything, but it's not because I haven't done anything. It's just I'm tying out different styles and compositions and I'm not sure enough wether to post them or not, there are just tries...
I'm getting in touch with very different influences of new illustrators I'm getting to know through MySpace... all that stimulates my imagination and maybe in a while I will get my inspiration to get some wings...
So let's see... :), here a little scrap doodle for an example illustration for our class, probably it will be colored with the tablet.

More pen and ink...
This weekend, at the EAH, Enrique Alcatena a really outstanding comic artist from my country, came to talk to the students... It was really amazing to hear the words from somebody so experienced in this area, he's a real master of his technique... one of the greatest argentinian comic illustrators of the last decades.. So, I'm honored to say I saw him, heard his words, and then even came to exchange some words with him! yeah... it was so cool!!!
And the day before I had the idea to make a flyer inspired in that visit to my school, and, well here it is... I think I begin to love ink... ;) and of course... Alcatena's work!!!
