Background for a double page

I did this background for the fairie book, it will show a little girl sitting underneath the left tree and a fairie flying upon her.
So, the background and characters were aproved, and it finally came out like this (the redheaded fairie is a character by Gloria Saavedra which I had to take as reference by wish of the editor).

Sketches and art class

In the meantime of working on the fairy books that I have mentioned before, I enjoy a lot every saturday night when I go to my coloring class held by my talented teacher, Totino. I have to say, I'm learning a lot, which is proving to be very productive while working, even if nothing decent comes out every time I try to do something at class! Hereby a quick sketch I did half an hour before leaving to class... it's been ages since I don't draw by hand, and even more since I made drawings with full grades of shadings.. I will have to loose up my hand much more! ^ __ ^

For the same book, I still have to work a lot on the coloring issue, I feel like handicapped, heheh, my strongness relies in the line I believe.. But, as I started a coloring class in the EAH with a very talented artist (Totino Tedesco) I hope to learn something from his amazing coloring skills that will help me improve the coloring quality of my works.

Confirmation and final first illu

Yayy!! So I will finally illustrate 5 double pages, together with other 3 illustrators, each featuring different mythological creatures (I will be doing fairies, elves, mermaids and muses). So, I'm very happy!!

New personal illu- traditional media

I've started a new illustration for my personal portfolio, but this time I've decided to go back to roots and make it by hand, as I haven't done anything without the tablet in almost the past two years! So, I'm pretty happy with the outcome so far, but I had to delay the coloring with markers, because I'm working on a possible commission, which could be the first time I had the chance to be published in my very personal, not child-like style,.. so, we'll see :)

The last..

This is the last little inside cover for this fairytale book that I have finished. So, I can relax a bit now that we are going on a little vacation trip, ! Yay!! I really long for some quiet, snowy days at my mom's...

New little book

So, after some weird period of not working (illness etc), I have made a new little book commissionesd by Latinbooks.

Little commission

I made a little illu for a commission. It had to picture a girl, with simple lines and only in black and white. It's for a sailboat, it will be decorating it's sides, that's the reason for the narrow format of the picture.

The client finally wanted a blue monochrome image with simple shadings and without any background. Here, the three versions of it.

New project and new books..

It's been quite a little while since the last update, reason for that was a new project for 8 little books I'm currently working on. The books are for extremely young children, so the illus are very, very simple, but I'm having fun anyway, and considering that I'm doing this together and thanks to one of the best illustrators of my country, Sebastian Barreiro, it's more than a big honor to be doing this!!!

Here the lineart for a personal illustration I'm coloring and I will finish when I finish with the books.

I also add the unfinished color, I have not been able to finish it yet! But I will, I promise....

Finished the schoolbook at laaast!!!!!

I have finally finished this schoolbook, which has been a challenge as well as a learning in every way. I will color some of the illus as soon as I can for my portfolio!
