Fairytale books- part2

Some more pages from the next 3 books of the series for CLASA: Sleeping beauty, Mirula and Tale of shyness.
I love drawing these fairytales, but I really long to be improving and searching for a more complex and enhanced way of coloring. I will start with my new personal improvement attempts as soon as I finish these books.

Fairytale books- part1

These are some pages from the first 3 books about fairytales to be published by CLASA.
Hereby: Cinderella, Snowwhite and The princess and the pea.
I had to use a different style for coloring as the first proposal for the work, so it's black line and flat color.

New commission

I'm working on the roughs for a new commission for CLASA that involves 16 little books about princesses.
Hereby one page that I did as sample for a possible way to color the books (Snow white).
They will finally be done with black line and simple cell shading, as the books are small and for small litlle girls between 4 and 5 years.

Colored little gift

I finally had time to color the sketch I did and this time I used my favorite tools: my markers! It has been a very long time since I used them, and it was a pleasure to think about the colors again and feel that wonderful scent they have once more.
Although my scanner is really crappy, and the scan doesn't make justice to the original,  I decided to upload the pic :)

Little gift

I'm preparing a little gift for a friend of mine.. it will be a litlle illu of a fairy on a mushroom, much in the kind of image of Alice in Wonderland.
Since I want to make te illu for a wooden pencilcase that its relatively small (17cm x 17cm), I'm undecided wether to make this fairy, which will be maybe too small or this profile I drew today.

Commissions, commissions!

Yes!! I have been very busy lately, and after finishing the doll I started with some commissioned illustrations, which the client wants as only lineart. I will be coloring soon just for fun ^ _ *

Working on a self made bjd doll

I have been on vacation, and afterwards I laid hands on a long longed project: my selfsculpted bjd doll.
It was hard work, but finally here she is! I named her Mizuki after my favorite japanese doll artists: Miyuki Hirose and Hizuki. I made her dress too out of vintage pieces of velvet and lace.
I used the wonderful book "Ball jointed doll guide" from the great japanese doll artist Ryo Yoshida for working through the process. It's a great book full of images.
I'm thrilled because I discovered that sculpting makes me as happy as drawing and illustrating ^__ ^.

Background for a double page

I did this background for the fairie book, it will show a little girl sitting underneath the left tree and a fairie flying upon her.
So, the background and characters were aproved, and it finally came out like this (the redheaded fairie is a character by Gloria Saavedra which I had to take as reference by wish of the editor).

More color of the fairie drawings...

The three remaining vignettes of the fairies, I think they came out very colorful ^ ^
